about IOBS

In June of 2012, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) awarded Innovative Oncology Business Solutions (IOBS) – a $19.8 million grant to develop and test a new Community Oncology Medical Home (COME HOME) model. Innovative Oncology Business Solutions, Inc. (IOBS) is a for-profit corporation that was created for the purpose of administering the CMMI grant and providing the distinct organizational structure necessary to oversee and manage the COME HOME project.

This new company is led by Dr. Barbara McAneny and an executive management and support staff team with a wealth of clinical, management and HIT experience. The purpose of the COME HOME grant is to demonstrate that community oncology practices can provide a medical home for oncology patients in a manner that produces improved outcomes, enhanced patient care experiences and costs savings.

We expect to realize significant cost savings by shifting patients out of the Emergency Departments and inpatient facilities and into our physician office practices as much as possible. Cost savings and improved outcomes are also anticipated by through the utilization of standardized triage, diagnostic and therapeutic pathways.
